Switch from UserVoice to IdeaLift
Move your feature requests to IdeaLift in minutes
Why Teams Leave UserVoice
Expensive for what you get
UserVoice Essentials starts at $799/month. IdeaLift starts at $149/month. You get decision tracking, AI scoring, and 26+ integrations at a fraction of the cost.
Outdated interface
UserVoice hasn't had a major UI refresh in years. IdeaLift is built for modern product teams with a clean, fast dashboard and mobile support.
No chat integration
UserVoice relies on portals and email. IdeaLift captures signals from Slack, Teams, and Discord where your team already talks. React with an emoji. Done.
No decision intelligence
UserVoice tracks feature requests. IdeaLift tracks the decisions behind them. Full audit trail with who decided, when, why, and what was rejected.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I migrate from UserVoice?
Export your UserVoice ideas as CSV using the Regular Export option (not Analysis), then upload to IdeaLift at Dashboard > Import and select the UserVoice preset. IdeaLift auto-detects UserVoice column formats, including both old "Suggestion" and new "Idea" naming conventions.
Can I export data from UserVoice?
Yes. Log in to UserVoice admin, go to Ideas (or Suggestions), click Export, and choose Regular Export in CSV format. The regular export gives one row per idea with titles, descriptions, supporter counts, statuses, categories, and creator info. The Analysis export includes per-voter rows which most migration tools do not need.
What is the best UserVoice alternative?
For public feedback portals with voting, Canny or Featurebase are the closest alternatives to UserVoice at lower price points. For teams that need internal decision tracking, context preservation, and ambient capture from Slack, Teams, and email, IdeaLift fills the gap that UserVoice and other portal tools leave open.
How do I switch from UserVoice to another tool?
Export your UserVoice data as CSV (Regular Export, not Analysis), then import into your new tool. IdeaLift, Canny, and Productboard all accept CSV imports with UserVoice-format columns. The migration typically takes under 10 minutes. Key things to preserve: idea titles, descriptions, vote counts, statuses, and creator information.
Why do teams leave UserVoice?
Common reasons include high pricing (UserVoice starts at $699/month for the basic plan), limited integrations with modern tools like Slack and Teams, no ambient capture from team conversations, and a portal-only model that misses internal feedback. Teams switching to IdeaLift typically cite the need for capturing decisions and feedback from where they already happen, not just a public voting board.
